It is reported that Mona Lisa Ceramics Co., Ltd. has begun research on energy-saving and low-carbon ceramic products and formulated related ceramic production standards. The person in charge of the company said, "We have achieved a transition from corporate standards to national standards and finally to international standards. This is the first time that Chinese ceramic companies have the right to speak in world standards."

The company’s chairman, Xiao Hua, introduced that in 2009 China’s ceramics production reached 6.427 billion square meters, which was accompanied by a huge price: In 2009, China’s ceramics and mineral raw materials consumed 180 million tons, and its energy consumption exceeded 40 million tons of standard coal. Consumption of 35 billion degrees, more than 1.1 billion tons of water consumption.

Xiao Hua said that if we reduce the thickness of all ceramic tiles by 50%, raw material consumption will be reduced by nearly 100 million tons, and the saved water and electricity will be measured in billions. The economic and social benefits will be inestimable.

It is reported that only a few countries in the world possess the equipment and technology for producing ceramic thin plates, but none have been industrialized.
