Be wary of "fake access control" forcing you to swipe your card to seize the opportunity to steal the card password

The criminals installed false access control in self-service banks to steal customer funds. The Provincial Public Security Department's Economic Investigation Corps reminded the public yesterday that extra care must be taken when depositing and withdrawing money from a self-service bank.

On January 7, two criminal suspects who committed crimes on the self-service bank credit card machine and ATM machine of Huiji Road Sub-branch of CCB were arrested at the scene.

They installed the card reading induction device in the card slot of the cash machine very covertly, and at the same time used the camera to obtain the password of the customer's operation, and then cloned the bank card to steal the customer's deposit in another place.

According to the police, there are three main forms of crime committed by criminals:

Fake access control information: the card reader track and password keys are assembled into a fake access control. When the cardholder swipes the card on the fake entrance and enters the password, the device steals and stores the magnetic stripe information and password information of the bank card.

Steal recording card information: install a steal recording device in the real entrance, when the cardholder swipes the card, the bank card information is recorded. At the same time, the password is stolen through various forms such as peeping cardholder transactions, installing a pinhole camera at the ATM machine, and covering the ATM machine password keyboard with a transparent film or a fake keyboard.

Candid card number password: Paste the pinhole camera on the real access control system to peep the cardholder's bank card number and password.
