Expanding Aluminum Applications in Guangdong in Action

On November 19th, the second seminar for Guangdong Province's "Design Code for Aluminum Alloy Bridges" (hereinafter referred to as "the Code") was held in Nanhai, Guangdong Province. Aluminum alloy bridges are lightweight, high-strength, durable, materials can be recycled, and many other advantages. They have obvious advantages over other materials in terms of performance, appearance, and cost. At present, no domestic normative documents for aluminum alloy bridges directly affect the promotion and standard use of aluminum alloy bridges. Formulating the "Code" is a general trend that conforms to the country's supply-side reforms, is also a policy orientation for the expansion of aluminum applications, and is also an important measure to promote the innovation of bridge design and construction and promote the transformation and upgrading of the aluminum processing industry.

The seminar was chaired by Mr. Zhang Jiandong, Dean and Senior Engineer of the Jiangxi Branch of the Guangdong Provincial Architectural Design Institute. Professor Lu Jiyan, director of the Aluminum Processing Professional Committee of the Guangdong Nonferrous Metals Association, and other senior engineers attended the meeting. It is understood that the final draft of the "Code" will also be completed by the end of December and submitted for approval.
