The new handling system adds a new generation of functionality; when the train is in full swing; the bogie system can be used to perform long-distance maneuvers and obtain data. This allows the train operator to provide services to the crew and find out early problems; then prevent or cut Secondary damage due to component failure. The new system allows operators to introduce protection based on conditions and cut life cycle costs.
The monitoring plan supplied by SKF will be based on its world-leading online system on the train IMx-R. It can record and confirm the status data of railway vehicles. These data can be integrated into Knorr-Bremse brake control system.
