7 major events in China's rare earth industry in 2010

1. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology studies measures to strengthen the management of the rare earth industry. From July 13 to 14, 2010, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a symposium to strengthen the management of the rare earth industry, and listened to relevant departments of the State Council, relevant local industrial authorities, key rare earth enterprises, experts, etc. to protect the resource environment and accelerate industrial upgrading. Advance mergers and acquisitions, strengthen the management of the rare earth industry, and implement the recommendations for the sustainable and healthy development of the rare earth industry.
2. Coordinated by the inter-ministerial coordination mechanism of rare metals, the relevant departments of the State Council unify the 2010 total control index of rare earth mining and the instructional production plan for mineral products and smelting and separating products.
3. The rare earth industry was listed for the first time in the key industries of the State Council to implement mergers and acquisitions.
4. The Ministry of Land and Resources carried out actions to rectify the order of minerals such as rare earths. On May 18, 2010, the Ministry of Land and Resources issued the Notice of the Ministry of Land and Resources on Launching a Special Rehabilitation Action for the National Minerals Development Order of Rare Earths, and launched a special rectification campaign for the development of minerals such as rare earths.
5. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology initiated the formulation of the “Rare Earth Industry Access Conditions”.
6. The Ministry of Environmental Protection adopted the “Rare Earth Industry Pollutant Emission Standard”. On December 31, 2010, the Standing Meeting of the Ministry of Environmental Protection adopted the “Rare Earth Industry Pollutant Emission Standard”.
7. The relevant departments approve a batch of rare earth standards. In 2010, the National Standardization Administration approved 12 national standards such as “Rare Earth Trichromatic Phosphors for Lamps”, “Rare Earth Long Afterglow Phosphors”, “Rare Earth Yellow Phosphors for White LEDs” and corresponding analytical methods. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology approved six industry standards such as fluorocarbon antimony concentrate.
