Zhu Yingjie said that the new filter paper has good biocompatibility, environmental friendliness, non-toxicity and harmlessness, high flexibility, nanoporous structure, and strong surface adsorption capacity, and can effectively intercept, adsorb and filter air PM2.5 fine particles. High filtration efficiency. In order to significantly improve the breathability of the new filter paper, the team used hydroxyapatite ultra-long nanowires and plant fibers to form a multi-stage composite pore structure, making the new filter paper highly efficient and breathable; The filtration efficiency of PM2.5 and PM10 particles in air is higher than 95%, and the filtering efficiency is better than that of various commodity masks.

"More importantly, the new filter paper has a filtration efficiency of more than 95% for PM2.5 fine particles in air pollution environments with moderate, severe, and serious pollution, and can be embedded in daily filtration as a core filter material. It is reported that the team has also developed a new type of hydroxyapatite ultra-long nanowire-based filter paper with antibacterial function, which has high-efficiency antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria, and is expected to be applied to highly efficient antibacterial filtering masks. At the same time, the new filter paper is expected to be used as a high-efficiency filter element in air purifiers, air conditioners and other products.
