Global demand for doors and windows has grown steadily

Global window and door demand will experience an annual growth rate of 6.8% from 2011 to 2015 after experiencing the recession between 2005 and 2010. In 2015, the global demand for windows and doors will reach US$1,920 billion. The report also shows that developed countries, especially the United States, may exaggerate profits too much. The report also predicts that due to the economic recession from 2009 to 2010, the demand for doors and windows from residential buildings in developed countries may exceed the demand for commercial buildings.

By 2015, the demand for energy-saving doors and windows in the overall market will increase substantially. On the one hand, it is due to consumers' awareness of environmental protection and energy conservation; on the other hand, it comes from government support for tax reduction and other policies. The sales of explosion-proof doors will also continue to increase as people in developed countries increase their awareness of safety.

It is estimated that by 2015, China’s share of demand in the global window and door market will increase from 27% in 2010 to 30%. The rapid economic growth, the acceleration of the industrialization process and the expansion of the per capita residential area in rural areas will increase the demand for door and window products. The report also predicts that the US window and door market will rebound strongly and maintain an average annual growth rate of 7.7% until 2015, compared to the 25% drop in demand from 2008 to 2010. At the same time, demand in Japan and Western Europe will also see a greater recovery.
