"Tianhe-1" first applied energy exploration domestic software

The 2nd "Oriental Cup" National University Student Exploration Geophysics Competition was held at the National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin. In this contest, GeoEast seismic data processing software system, the first core domestic software in the field of oil and gas energy exploration in China, was first carried out on China’s first petascale supercomputer “Tianhe No. 1” with many passengers and large passengers. The scale operation will promote China's independent research and development of energy exploration hardware and software systems to participate in global competition.

In recent years, with the depletion of global oil and gas energy, the exploitation of oil and gas energy in new areas under complex geological conditions has received increasing attention. However, the difficulty in processing and interpreting geophysical data for exploration is also increasing. GeoEast seismic data processing software system is the first core domestic software in the field of oil and gas energy exploration in China, and is also the most successful domestic software for commercial operation in this field. Currently, it is moving into the international market and competes with mainstream foreign software.

According to reports, the GeoEast seismic data processing software system represents the highest level in China's oil exploration field. "Tianhe-1" participated in the research and construction of the core software throughout the entire process, increasing the underground imaging speed from the past three days to one day, reaching the international advanced level. The level is to break the technical barriers to foreign companies in China in this area.
