Wen Jiabao hopes that Germany will promote EU's relaxation of export control to China

China is willing to import more German products and hopes that Germany will actively promote the EU's export control of high-tech products to China.

Meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel

China and Germany must adhere to mutual respect, treat each other as equals, and take care of each other's core interests. The sustained and rapid development of China's economy provides a huge market for Germany. China welcomes the expansion of German companies to China. It is an investment in the central and western regions of China.

Merkel said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties 40 years ago, the relations between the two countries have developed rapidly and have become strategic partners. In particular, high-level exchanges of visits have been frequent in recent years, and mutual understanding has deepened. The German-Chinese government consultation has promoted the all-round development of bilateral cooperation.

Wen Jiabao said that the European debt problem has brought difficulties to Europe and also provided opportunities for strengthening European integration. The EU is China's largest trading partner, and the European economy is good for China. China supports European integration and has confidence in Europe. China attaches importance to Germany's position and role in the EU and is willing to work with Germany to promote the continued development of China-EU relations.
